fun run is almost here

St. Paul’s community fun run/ walk is taking place this Saturday 17th May.  There is still time to register before the event or you can register on the day from 10am.

This is a fun run of almost 2 miles and is traffic free so suitable for all.

The main run starts at 11am on Pendeford Square and the toddler trot at 12.15pm on the school field.

The cost is £4 for adults and £2 for under 16’s.  All finishers receive a medal.

wine tasting with cheese!!!!!!

We will be holding an evening of wine tasting with cheese on Saturday 19th July at 7.30pm.  We will have 8 different wines will be shown – four white and four red.  Tickets will be available soon priced at £5.

Women’s world day of prayer, Friday 7th March

This year’s Women’s world day of prayer is Friday 7th March. A service is being held at St. Anthony’s RC Church in Bee Lane, Fordhouses at 7pm.

Despite the title all are welcome to attend.

This years service has been prepared for us by the women of Egypt.

Raffle prize donations

Donations of raffle prizes would be welcomed to use for our fundraising events throughout the year. If you have anything, maybe an nwanted gift or purchase please bring it to church and leave it for the attention of Dot. Thank you.

Pendeford Arts and Craft Market

Saturday 22nd March see’s us hosting an Art and Craft Market in the Oasis Cafe and St Paul’s Church.

Exhibitors will be showing fine art, hand-made jewellery, cards, paper-craft, textiles, wood-craft and more, plus fresh produce, jams and preserves.

All from Local artists, crafters and growers.

All are welcome to come along so why not join us between 11am – 2pm to see what is on offer.

Friday Communion service’s during Lent

This year during Lent, St Paul’s will be holding a short half hour service of Holy Communion every Friday (starting March 7th) at 12.15pm in the chapel.

All are welcome so please join us.

Ash Wednesday service at St Paul’s

St Paul’s will be holding an Ash Wednesday service on 5th March at 12.15pm.

It will be a simple service of Holy Communion, including the imposition of ashes, to mark the start of Lent. The service will last approximately 1/2 hour.

Funeral details for Bev Swift

The funeral of Bev Swift will take place on Thursday 13th March, 9.30am at St. Micheal’s church, Tettenhall and 11am at Danescourt Cemetery.  Followed by a wake at Fordhouses Cricket Club.

All who knew Bev are welcome to attend both the service at the church and Cemetery, as well as the wake.

Donations in memory of Bev can be made at the service.

 

Social and Fundraising notice

Our District Church Council (DCC) has begun a system of sub-groups to organise various aspects of our church life. One of these is aimed at social and fundraising events. In the Autumn we had two successful events; a quiz and a karaoke.
It would be good to have further suggestions and more people to help get those ideas underway. If you are interested in helping or making suggestions please let Dot know (07702548161) or come to 211 Marsh Lane on Thursday 27th February at 7.30pm when a programme for the year can be drawn up.

Quiz night

This year’s quiz night is being held at Saint Paul’s on the 21st September at 7pm.

Tickets are now on sale priced at just £4 each or £3 if you are of primary school age.

Teams are to be made up of upto 6 people. Don’t worry if you do not have a team, we will be able to pair you up on the night.

Food is included and will be puddings and nibbles. Please bring along your own drinks and glasses.

We hope to see as may of your there as possible.
