Churches together sponsored walk

Annual Churches Together sponsored walk on Cannock Chase

This years walk will be taking place on Saturday 13 September.
Linzee Perry will be taking part and walking the 5 miles around Cannock Chase.

Linzee is raising money for Wolverhampton Food Bank and as in the last couple of years has been the only member of St. Paul’s to take part we need to show our support by helping with sponsorship money.

So anyone willing please get in touch with Linzee and show your support.

christian aid week is upon us

Christian Aid week is with us and we are asking for helpers for the house to house collections and also for people to make small or slice-able size cakes that we can sell on our stall at the fun run.  We also need help in running the stall.

If you feel you can help in any way please contact Marion on 07746 408 872 or email

Christian Aid week 2014: give people a future without fear.

War tears lives apart. You can help put them back together.

Christian Aid Week 2014 logo

For a growing number of people across the world, the horror of war is part of daily life.

The good news is that individuals, communities and churches can make a real difference this Christian Aid week.  Last year, a magnificent 20,000 churches across the country helped raise £12m for Christian Aid week.  Thanks to your efforts, many more people can look forward to a future free from poverty.

fun run sponsorship for a good cause

Linzee Perry, from St. Paul’s, is taking part in this weeks fun run and would like to raise money for Streetlight and linked charities to help the children of the Philippines.

There will be sponsorship forms available but please consider giving as much as you can spare for this very worthwhile charity.  Many of you will know something of the work carried out by Streetlight due to the recent visit there of the Rev’d Simon Douglas.

Message from Christian Aid

Dear Supporter

First of all, may I wish you and your family a very happy New Year.

Many thanks

May I thank you, too, for your commitment to Christian Aid over the past twelve months. In particular, thanks to all who came along to the Ashmore Park Choir Christmas Concert in St Thomas’s Church on December 10th when £1,211 was raised for Christian Aid.

Thanks, too, for promoting the Winter Quiz. I’ve received £279 so far from the sale of quiz-sheets, but I know that there is still cash to be sent in. I’d be grateful if you could let me have this as soon as possible.

Quiz Evening
Our next fundraising venture is a Quiz Evening at Springdale Methodist Church on Saturday 8th February and I should be most grateful if you would display the attached poster at your church, publicise the event and print off some tickets (also attached) to sell.

Last year’s quiz evening at Oldfallings United Reformed Church was so well attended that we need to have a good idea of ticket sales to make sure we can accommodate everyone. So I’ll get in touch at the end of this month to see how sales are going. We would really prefer it if tickets were purchased in advance rather than at the door.

I shall be running a raffle at the Quiz and would welcome offers of prizes. These could be brought along on the night but I need to know about them in advance

Looking well ahead, we shall be arranging a Christian Aid Week Sponsored Walk at Northycote Farm again this year – on Saturday 17th May. Put it down now in your brand new shiny 2014 diary.

Once again, very best New Year wishes

Karaoke and Jim’s haircut

It’s only 1 week to go (16th November) until the karaoke evening at st Paul’s and Jim’s sponsored haircut.

Music will be performed by Rainbow Road (featuring Phil Clayton). Tickets are still available from Laura Bloomfield priced £4 and £3 for under 16’s.

During the evening Jim will be having his first haircut in 10 years! He will be having his head shaved in aid of Christian Aid’s Syrian crisis appeal.
You can sponsor Jim in 2 ways. Firstly fill in a sponsor form at the back of church or alternately you can sponsor him online at just giving. His giving page is:
Jim and Jo will also have sponsor forms.

The removed hair will be donated to “The Little Princess Trust” who make wigs for child cancer patients.

So far approximately £300 has been raised but we would like to raise as much as possible so please dig deep if you feel you can.

Saint Paul's, Pendeford
