St Paul's Church Theatre Group  -   Sep – Nov 2017
If you are interested in going to the theatre, sharing lifts and enjoying a performance together, here are our next few trips:
 
Saturday, 2nd September at 5.45pm  The film “Dunkirk” at The Lighthouse Cinema Dunkirk tells the story of hundreds of thousands of British & Allied troops surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.  Starring Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh & Cillian Murphy, with Aneurin Barnard and Harry Styles.     £8.15 Concs: £6.65 (OAP/Disabled/Unemployed)  Under 25s and students: £4.50 all screenings
Thursday, 7th September at 7.30pm at The Arena theatre, Wolverhampton Music Theatre Company in “Memphis”   £11/£8 concessions
 
Saturday, 16th September at 5.45pm  Film “Victoria and Abdul” with Judi Dench at The Lighthouse cinema  £8.15 Concs: £6.65 (OAP/Disabled/Unemployed) Under 25s and students: £4.50 all screenings
 
Friday, 13th October 7.30pm at The Grand  Monty Python’s Spamalot by South Staffs Musical Theatre Company  approx. £20
 
Sunday, 22nd Oct 7.30pm  at The Grand  Doreen in “The Rise of the Yam Yam” comedy queen of the Black Country – hilarious one person show  approx. £20
 
Thurs, 26th October at 7.30pm at The Arena theatre “Double Dickens”  £12/£10 conc.  Satirical and funny episode from The Pickwick papers, a solo performance of multiple roles.
 
From the previous list: – this show has been cancelled – Monday, 13th Nov at The Grand  “Love Letters” with Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal
 
Thursday, 16th Nov   Searchlight Theatre Company and Jeff Lucas in “There are no Ordinary People”  At Codsall Methodist church   £12

Christian Aid Week

A message from Marion calling for helpers.
Christian Aid Week is coming very soon – 14-20th May
There are lots of opportunities for supporting Christian Aid this year:
Please support the cake and plant stall on Saturday 13th May at the Fun Run (Thank you to Emily’s Mum-in-Law, Joanne, TJ and others who have already volunteered to help run the stall or donate cakes) and also please come to the Christian Aid service on Sunday 14th.
Please let me know if you can do house to house collections in your street.
Volunteer(s) also needed to help with the bouncy castle at the Fun Run.
If you like walking, there is a 3 mile sponsored walk (I am going so can give anyone a lift) starting from Northycote Farm, 10 am till approx 12.30 pm. If you don’t like getting sponsors, just come and enjoy the walk and make a donation to Christian Aid.
Volunteers are also needed to rattle collecting tins (tins and tabards provided) at Wolverhampton Station during Christian Aid week (afternoon and evening sessions). I will be there on Tuesday 4-6pm if anyone wants to join me.

Thursday, 27th April at 7.30pm at The Lighthouse “Sully” based on the story of a man landing a damaged plane on the Hudson river. In aid of charity £11 includes a glass of wine.

Thurs, 18th May at 7.00pm at The Lighthouse National Theatre Live screened “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe” by Edward Albee, staring Imelda Staunton about staff on campus at after party drinks with devastating truth telling £12/£11

 

Friday, 16th and 17th June 8pm 7 plays in 48 hours written in Wolverhampton £7/£5 for one night and £10/£8 for two nights.

 

Thursday, 20th July and Thursday, 27th July at 7.00 National Theatre Live screening “Angels in America” Part One and Part Two. £12/£11 conc set in Ronald Reagan’s 1980’s America in the midst of the AIDS crisis.
