Church Councils – could YOU serve?

The Church Councils are the ‘governing bodies’ of the church.  Because Saint Paul’s is part of a team parish (working with Christ the King and Saint Michael’s in the Parish of Tettenhall Regis), we have two church councils:

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) has the legal responsibility for the parish, including worship patterns, wedding, funeral and baptism policy, appointment of ministers and matters of finance, buildings etc.

The District Church Council (DCC) makes decisions on matters specifically relating to Saint Paul’s.  The DCC has representatives on the PCC… or, to put it another way, if you serve on PCC you will also serve on the DCC of your church.

Could you serve on the DCC or PCC? Each year, new members are elected at the annual meeting.  Usually, you serve for three years.  If you would like to consider becoming a member of one of our church councils, please speak to Jim or to the DCC secretary, Corrina Thacker.

Elections will be held this Sunday, 22nd April, at the District Church Meeting after the 10:30am service.
