Saint Valentine – Celebrating Marriage

There will be a Saint Valentine’s service on Sunday 12th February, 6:30pm at Saint Michael’s Church.

This service is an opportunity for couples to celebrate the gift of marriage, to remember with joy their wedding day (whether recently or many years ago) and to declare their love for and commitment to each other.

If you are celebrating a special anniversary this year and would like it mentioned in the service, please let one of the clergy know.

Lent Course 2012 – “Rejoicing in the Cross”

Lent courses are a significant part of the history of Saint Paul’s.  We actively encourage members of Saint Paul’s to take up attendance of a course during Lent each year.  This year’s Lent course is five sessions long, once a week, starting in the week beginning 27th February.

The course title is “Rejoicing in the Cross” and it will allow us to reflect on Bible passages alongside artwork by Karola Onken, a German artist.  Through her pictures (depicting events or texts from the Bible), Karola invites viewers to reflect on the Christian faith and look at their own lives in new ways.

There will be four groups this year:
Monday evenings, 7:30pm  in the chapel (led by Rich Cresswell)
Wednesday mornings, 9:30am in the chapel (led by Greta Lowe)
Wednesday evenings, 7:30pm at the vicarage (led by Jim and others to be confirmed!)
Friday evenings, 7:30pm, venue to be confirmed (led by Bridget Campbell)

Everyone who attends the sessions will be given a small copy of the artwork to keep.

If you would like to attend, please sign up on the sheet in the foyer.
