Healing Ministry Training Day

There will be a Healing Ministry training day at St Mary’s Church, Bushbury on Saturday 24th March, from 9am-4pm.

The guest speaker is Revd Gareth Davies, the Bishop of Lichfield’s advisor on healing ministry.  Gareth says; “over several years of offering training events for parishes and deaneries we have witnessed many folk healed, blessed and equipped to run with this ministry in their local situations.”

The aim of this training is to encourage and equip Christians to see that the healing ministry is an integral part of the Church’s ministry, in both pastoral and evangelistic opportunities.

The main programme will include a particular focus upon the following areas of ministry:

  • Suffering and why folk are and aren’t healed
  • The nature of physical healing, inner healing and the renewal of the mind; as well as healing relationships and forgiveness
  • How to build a prayer ministry team, including prayer model, spiritual values and guidelines
    Listening to God
  • In essence the “Theology of Why” and the  “Practicalities of How” people are healed.

If you are interested and would like more information or would like to sign up to attend, please get in contact with Revd Richard Merrick (curate at St Mary’s, Bushbury) on revrichstmarys@gmail.com

Prayer for the Week – 30th Anniversary Prayer

Thank you Lord for choosing Pendeford as the place to build St Paul’s Church 30 years ago.

The building of the church is a visible sign for everyone to come here and worship you.
We pray, Lord, that from this church you will lead us in our earthly life on a path of light towards you.
We know, Lord, that you chose this parish in a special way so the local people could come and worship you here in this church.
Help the parishoners to become joyful and holy fruits in your presence here at St Paul’s Church.

Lord, guide us in the activities of our 30th anniversary celebrations and we pray for your continual inspiration as we journey from our pearl anniversary to gold and beyond.

Amen

Avril Parsons, R.I.P.

Avril’s funeral will take place this Friday, 20th January.

The commital will be 3:00pm at Bushbury Crematorium (West Chapel), with a memorial service at Saint Paul’s, 4:00pm.  This will be followed by a buffet tea in the Oasis café.

Everyone is welcome to any or all parts of the day.

Recently, Avril liked to wear a silk flower in her hair for church, so some of the family and others will follow her lead.  Please feel free to join in.

We hold Bridget and all of Avril’s family in our prayers this week.
